In plain terms: what CueCap sends, what the microphone/camera are used for, and what we don't do.
This privacy policy covers the CueCap application for Windows and the
associated license server (lisens.cuecap.no) used to activate and
validate licenses. It's written in plain language, not legal jargon — feel free
to reach out if anything is unclear.
When you activate or validate a license, CueCap sends exactly two pieces of information to the license server:
This happens on first activation and periodically while the app is running, to confirm the license is still valid. Nothing else is sent to the license server.
CueCap may request access to the microphone and camera, but only to power the recording features in the app (screen recording with audio, or a camera overlay in a corner of the recording). These are used exclusively when you actively choose to turn them on for a recording.
Audio and video from the microphone/camera is never sent anywhere — not to the license server or any other service — unless you choose to save or share the finished recording yourself, for example via the "Share" button in the app.
CueCap does not use analytics, tracking, or advertising SDKs. No usage statistics are collected, and the app does not communicate with any third-party services for marketing or tracking purposes.
Screenshots, PDFs, and recordings you create with CueCap are stored locally on your own machine, in the folder you've chosen in settings — we have no access to this content. The license server only stores license and activation information (license key, machine ID, and the time of last contact) for as long as the license is in use.
You can request access to, correction of, or deletion of information tied to your license at any time — reach out at the email address below.
Privacy questions can be directed to post@cuecap.no.
